Was Fabio Capello any good?

The world of football is a dog eat dog world. I’ve known many good footballers spend years with a club to only then get dropped due to a slight issue, i.e. tight hamstrings, groin strains or a sudden illness.

The same can be said for its managers… Lets face it, if you cannot manage some of the best paid footballers in the world to reach a final for a world cup then “WHAT IS THE POINT” in paying him such a huge amount of money!

What do you think?? Please post your comments…..

Will scrap metal thefts affect the London 2012 Olympics?

Will Scrap metal thefts affect the London 2012 Olympics?

On the news today it has been reported that there are increasing concerns about whether or not metal thefts will be on an increase & affect the Olympics.

It would be highly embarrassing for the UK to have transport to and from the games heavily disrupted as a result of such metal thefts. Since the recession hit the UK, metal thefts have been on a constant increase! Even churches and public houses have fell victim of this crime! Network rail currently report 7 cases of metal theft per day! After spending billions of pounds on the London 2012 Olympic Games & with all of the world’s eyes on the UK aren’t it wise to clamp down on such thefts now & take immediate action with all reported instances.

I personally think the people buying metal from any one should take every measure to eliminate metal theft. Taking simple measures such as taking copies of ID, photos on entrance, payments by cheques and not cash would drastically decrease metal thefts…

Dodgy alcohol can be pumped full of harmful chemicals

Bleach, petrol & de-icer are some of the many harmful chemicals that dodgy alcohol sellers are putting into their drinks.

As many people are going out to party their socks off before the Christmas rush, many people are falling foul of these scammers!

Even if you are in a bar or club which you’ve been going to for some while and you feel that something isn’t quite right about the bottle you’re going to drink from don’t!

Here are a few basic tips to stay safe this Christmas when drinking!

• Do never drink alone!
• If you’re going to the toilet make sure a trusted relative or friend looks after your drink!
• If at any point you feel that your drink may have been spiked, call the police!
• Avoid taking drinks from strangers!
• If the bottle looks dodgy with dis colouration in the bottle or on the bottle refrain from drinking from it!
• Stay safe and drink sensibly!

Was Amir Khan Cheated?

I found this really good article about the Amir Khan vs Lamont Peterson fight!

Quite often, it is in the stubborn nature of many of us, most notably males, to move forward without regard to the instruction manual which accompanied our latest project. The desire to push ahead and pay no mind to the rules of the house is seemingly hardwired in many of us.
Over the past few months, a certain pound-for-pound contender has been subjected to an inquisition of constant scrutiny due to the fact that some feel that he fought outside of the rules. The written guidelines would show that he didn’t do so, but to many his actions are still no less reprehensible. The referee in charge of a fight will tell the two combatants a few things before the bout commences.

Of course, the boxer must protect himself at all times.

Quickly refer back to the aforementioned yet unspecified pugilist who reminded his opponent of the need to follow this decree. Additionally, the fighters are instructed to obey the commands of the arbitrator in the ring at all times. Life is usually that way. Don’t drive too fast. Don’t take that which does not belong to you. Or else. Does this all sound familiar? Do the tubular bells ring? They should and most likely do.

So, why does Amir Khan feel the need to chase after the result he didn’t get? Why is there no mention on his part of the chance that he wasted?

Washington, D.C. has often been the site of disappointment for many people. It has also been a beacon of hope, liberation and justice. Last Saturday evening, Amir Khan of Bolton, England met D.C. native Lamont Peterson in a clash for a piece of the light welterweight title. On paper, this wasn’t the most intriguing contest that money could buy, especially for fans of boxing who like to end each year with a proverbial bang.

Nonetheless, the two fighters collided for twelve rounds of action in the heart of our nation’s capital. More than a few boxing devotees did not give Peterson very much of a chance to prevail in the match. Amir Khan appeared to jump out to an early lead and he dropped Peterson by way of a left hook before the close of the first round. What became glaringly evident afterwards was the actuality that Khan was more concerned about maintaining his lateral movement and landing effective jabs than anything else.

While it has been somewhat proven that overall punching volume can often trump the occasional power shot in the eyes of the three ringside judges, it also goes without saying that they must often make hasty decisions on their own part when a fighter does not show them a clear and definitive answer within the allotted amount of rounds.

Once Lamont Peterson figured out that he simply had to stalk Khan down and catch him on the ropes, Khan’s “Plan A” sprouted wings and flew too close to the sun on the wings of leather. Many fighters are not exactly at their best when they are backed up against the cordage. Back and forth the contest shuffled. Referee Joseph Cooper performed his duties well and withstood the tendency of many officials to favor one fighter over the other.

Amir Khan has been riding a recent wave of success, which is in much part thanks to his new found training methods under the eye of (now Hall of Fame) trainer Freddie Roach. Prior to this, Khan fought mostly unknowns, through no direct fault of his own on his home turf in Great Britain. Every fighter has his own road to working his way……

Is the Olympics owned by the athletes and country or by large Companies?

After spending allot of my time with many GB athletes I am starting to identify that allot of the funds raised for the Olympics 2012 London games is being spent on the stadium and PR.

My sources have told me to be an official sponsor of the London 2012 games a minimum of £10,000,000 must be given. Where does all of this money go?

Clearly companies like Mcdonalds and Llyods Tsb are profitting of the back of the games. I.e. Mcdonalds a fast food chain is allowed to represent the world’s biggest fitness association! & Adidas a clothing company has exclusivety over most of the Olympic games!

In my eyes the athletes should come first before the corporations, however we live in a world where money talks and comes 1st before the athletes!

Here’s a book by one of the greatest Olympians ever! Sir Steve Redgrave! A must by for any present!

Is it fair that Premier League footballers – especially Wayne Rooney get away with so much?

Unfortunately we live in a world where money talks and power reigns all!

With many sports under the limelight all day long such as football it comes as little surprise that these footballers get away with so much!

Recently Wayne Rooney from Manchester United & England Footballer was granted that he would not serve his full ban! If it was a basic league or any other sport there would’ve been much harsher consequences!

Without doubt Wayne Rooney is a very talented footballer, however it is shocking to see how much bad press he gets & how much he can get away with!

Most sports men and women are poorly funded and do not have millions of pounds of disposable income or support like he has. I personally feel he should book up his ideas and starting playing football as a professional and represent himself, his family country and his country in a better light!

Here’s where to buy yourself a good guide to football! It reviews everything from the rules, basic positions and even explains the off-side rule! (which so many people don’t know!)

James Ellington Causes hype on Ebay!

James Ellington GB 100m / 200m sprinter has been on the news & media all week as he has managed to auction himself on Ebay to find himself a major sponsor for next years Olympic Games!

Unfortunately after speaking with so many top athletic athletes, many people in the general public see many of these athletes in the same light as footballers! However it’s not the same! They self fund, work long and hard, cry out for sponsors all of the time and have many financial hurdles to face!

There is only 1 other UK sprinter who has no definate major sponsor as of yet!

Julian Thomas! 200m & 4 x 100m Sprinter!

As a Junior, Julian was the fastest in the UK, 2nd fastest in Europe & 5th fastest in the World!

An athlete who was to appear in the 2008 Olympics who had a knee injury and then had to have surgery! After loosing his sponsors he’s now fighting his way to London 2012!

We at GT Personal Training are supporting Julian Thomas all of the way to London 2012 & are looking to find him a Major Sponsor!

Is gambling good for our health?

Personally I’m more of a Lottery Ticket player, the most I have ever gambled in a casino was £40 & I’m rubbish at cards!

The best gambling experience I had was when I put £3 into a slot machine and then was rewarded £500 back! It wasn’t a bad return on my investment, however I was lucky!

Gambling, whether it is in a live casino environment or online can become very addictive! Especially for those people who may have addictive personalities or may be feeling a bit low about their finances and may feel a gamble would be a good solution! I have seen friends of mine spend allot of money in casinos & other forms of gambling to lose allot!

Many people don’t have much luck with gambling and it should be a controlled interest & like anything “treated with respect!”

Do you have any experiences you would like to share on this subject? Feel free to leave a message!

Here’s a link to a website which is an example of online gambling! http://de.partypoker.com/
